First time I have gotten this far on an Illustration Friday (IF) word.

Flirting with the Butterflies

 

I just finished gluing the pieces into this shadowbox today. The paper frame I want to place around the outside of it will have to wait until later. I am trying to evaluate this piece and cannot decide if I don't like the shadowbox type illustration or if I need to beef up my composition. I definitely love working in the diorama style better. Although both come with their own set of issues.

Slowly Piecing Together a Portfolio

As I am working on illustrations to include in my portfolio, I tend to jump around a bit. It lets my brain digest and compose the images subconsciously as I move on to something fresh. This illustration is not finished, but I will post it anyway, so I can feel a little progress.
